Capture the coming era
According to the United Nation estimations, the world population will increase to 9.7 billion in 2050.The trend of urbanization will continue to rise and 72% of the total population will be concentrated in urban areas. In such a future, in order for any residents in the world to have a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment, we believe that there are tasks and new challenges that we should struggle with through co-creation with our partners.
The first task is to reduce the environmental load in housing development (construction). Efforts to minimize the increase in CO2 emissions are indispensable in response to the increasing global housing and construction demand. It is necessary to bring together the wisdom of humankind in every step of the construction process, such as expanding the use of natural materials and extending the service life of buildings.
The second task is the improvement of the work site environment in housing development. It is difficult to secure human resources with certain experience and skills, which may become a bottleneck in the future housing supply. In addition to promoting automation and mechanization, it is important to create solutions for workers to work in safe, secure, and comfortable workplaces.
The third task is to improve the well-being of residents. It was once thought that natural material = wood is inferior in durability and fire resistance to metals such as iron. In recent years, technological innovation has significantly increased the potential of wood as a building material, allowing people to live a warm and prosperous life surrounded by more natural materials.
The purpose of Co-Creation
In order to reduce the environmental load in housing development, we would like to work with co-creation partners to accelerate the introduction of highly sustainable materials centered on natural materials (wood, etc.) and manufacturing equipment for mass production. In addition to construction, we would also like to work on improving energy efficiency to achieve carbon neutrality from upstream to downstream, such as making smart homes housings.
